Ladies and Gents,

The official start to Fall has been ushered in with some rather dreary and humid weather. Hopefully, our newsletter will help brighten your day or at least provide a temporary distraction. There's nothing wrong with daydreaming about ballroom dancing all day or practicing the Cha Cha while waiting on the coffee to be made at the office. You may want to be sure your cup is empty though when practicing underarm turns! ;)

The Sunshine Ball

Of course, they couldn't have done it without the support of our wonderful crowd! Many thanks to those of you who took the time to travel to the Columbus East studio and cheer for both our competitors and the other studios.

Wanna compete?

The National Dance Championship is October 21-25th at Walt Disney World.

The Ohio Northern Dance Challenge (Team Match) is November 8th in Mentor, Ohio.

The Ohio Star Ball is October 17th-22nd in Downtown Columbus.

Ask your instructor for details about any of these competitions.

Staff Seminar
The Columbus Northwest Staff will be traveling to the Fred Astaire National Training Seminar where they will spend the weekend working with former and current US Champions, World Champions, Dance Board Members & Dance Directors: Armando Martin, Martin Lamb, Stephen Knight, Dan Rutherford & Nicole Carroll.

Dance Party - Thursday (24th)
Daniel will be heading to the seminar early, but while Daniel is away the staff will play! There will be a Dance Party at the studio beginning at 8:30pm. Definitely prepare for good times!!!

Guest Party
Last week's Guest Party was a blast! Thanks to all who came!

Sandy Nelson brought the most guests for the evening. And, Linda Wojcik and Chris O'Conner both received a bonus lesson for winning the infamous game of "Scotch, Whiskey, Rye." (Yes, the dancing game!) It's interesting to see what people will do when a bonus lesson is the prize!

It's Time for The Sunshine!

Ladies and Gents,
In the words of J. Lo: "Let's get LOUD!" The Sunshine Ball is THIS Friday, September 18th at the Columbus East Studio. This dance competition is exclusively for our newest competitors:

Of course, they cannot do it alone. We need spectators because at Columbus Northwest, we like it LOUD! Show your support and sign up at the studio TODAY to cheer on your fellow students. There will be open dancing and good times as always!

Show & Tell Guest Party
Since the Sunshine Ball is on Friday the Dance Party is now on Thursday night at 7:45pm. Keeping with our Back to School theme for this Festival, it's Show & Tell time! Bring a guest or many guests to the dance party and show them what ballroom dancing and our fabulous Columbus Northwest Dance Studio is all about!

Getting Old School
Don't forget about our Old School Promotion. It runs through this Saturday. See your instructor for more details.

Congratulations
Congrats to Ed Keelan & Julie Lapine and Jack Garber & Sandy Nelson. Each dance couple tied for first place in last Friday's Sudden-Death Dance Off at the Pep Rally Party. With the help of Daniel at the Music Machine, Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and the Cha Cha may never be the same. :)

Coaching with Chantal THIS Saturday!

Coaching with Chantal
September is here and Festival begins THIS FRIDAY! Be sure to come to the Friday Group Lesson at 7:45pm and stay for the Dance Party where we will debut fun and exciting games to keep you dancing.

Chantal LeClerc
This Saturday, the fabulous Chantal LeClerc will be at the studio. Improve your skills and take advantage of the opportunity to be coached by a dance champion! Talk with your instructor and schedule a personal coaching session with her.

Since she will be here, Chantal will lead a Salsa group class at 10:45am in lieu of the ballroom fitness class. This is something you don't want to miss!

Sunshine Ball
For those of you who have not competed, there is an event just for you: The Sunshine Ball!The event will be held at the East Studio on Friday, September 18th, and it is open to new competitors only. If you are interested, talk with your instructor for more information.

Labor Day
There will be no group class on Monday, September 7th for Labor Day, but we will be open. Call the studio and schedule a private lesson during the day.

Bronze Class
Next week, for Tuesday's and Thursday's Bronze class, we will be focusing on the Viennese Waltz.
